Description

In honour of the 70th Anniversary of International Human Rights Day (December 10), the City of London, in collaboration with the Ontario Human Rights Commission, is inviting you to join us for an update on Human Rights Legislations, their Application and Implementation.

The event will be held at the Wolf Performance Hall, located in the London Central Public Library on Friday, December 14, 2018.

Who can attend?

  • The event is open to public service agencies, Indigenous partners and stakeholders working with the City of London, in addition to the staff of the surrounding Indigenous, municipal and regional organizations.

  • This conference and the content provided will directly benefit the staff, management and executive leadership whose work involves human rights, labour relations, equity and inclusion, policy development, policy review and update, leadership development, workplace harassment, and violence prevention.

Cost, Parking, Logistics:

  • The cost to attend is 25 dollars per person. There will be a lunch and two nutrition breaks provided during the day.

  • The day begins with check-in/registration starting at 8:45 a.m. with the program starting at 9:30 am sharp.

  • Parking is available (underground) at Citi Plaza. Please budget for up to 12 dollars per vehicle for the full day. The Central Library is within walking distance of the Via Rail as well as the Greyhound Bus Station. There are hotels available within a short walking distance (for those travelling from a distance).

Accessibility & Accommodations:

  • Please email skhan@london.ca if you require accommodations, including accessibility (mobility devices in use, sign language, large print handouts), as well as any dietary (medical allergies, halal, kosher, vegan, vegetarian) requirements. Kindly email by Dec 10, 2018, 5 pm at the latest with your requirement. We cannot guarantee complete accomodations for requests received after Dec 10, 2018.
