Our December topic is “London: Come for Business, Stay for Life” a discussion of some of the activities and services London provides that will attract and retain people and businesses.
Brittany Mederios – will talk about employers in London and how they are attracting people to London. Brittany Medeiros is a Digital Creative Technology enthusiast and she dedicates her time to engaging, informing and delivering positive impact to London's community. Brittany provides support and resources to London's digital creative and start up community that consists of over 300+ creative companies that employ around 9000 people.
She is a community builder and collaborator, and spends her volunteer time running a fundraiser with a team of partners called Project Play. Project Play has recently partnered with Forest City Comicon and to date they have helped 15 community organizations and raised over $25,000. In 2015, their event brought out just under 5000 people.
Jodi Simpson - helps new employees settle in London for companies that are hiring staff from out of town. Jodi Simpson is the Founder of CityMatch – a high-touch relocation and settlement service for companies moving talent to the city of London.
She is a proud Londoner with a strong reputation for her ability to establish meaningful connections, the breadth and depth of her network and for her contributions to her community through volunteer, board and committee work. Throughout her life and career Jodi has consistently directed her talents towards connecting people, organizations and ideas to promote the city, stimulate community engagement and improve the quality of life for all Londoners.
Rick Spencer is a Commercial Real Estate Broker at CBRE. Rick began his career at CBRE in 2012. Rick's experience and education in business make him a valuable source for business owners as they wade through the waters of acquiring and disposing of their properties.
Rick ran his steel contracting company for more than 25 years overseeing an employee base of 80-110. Rick has a diploma from Fanshawe College in Business Marketing and has attended Ivey Business School and Harvard Business School in continuing education courses.
Rick is committed to the local community. Rick is on the board of directors for St. Joseph Hospital Foundation and is also involved in the Unity Project (Homeless Shelter), Lung Association, the London Chamber of Commerce and more.
Bill Handsaeme is the President of Forest City Funding Inc., O/A Dominion Lending Centres, since August of 1989. His brokerage has grown to over 100 agents who provide mortgage services to thousands of clients annually. The company continues to remain in the top 5 franchises in Canada and funded in excess of $300,000,000 in mortgage volumes for 2011. Mr. Handsaeme was also in senior management position with the Bank of Montreal in the years prior to becoming a mortgage broker.
