Students will spend one week learning the fundamentals of improvisation through games and scene work. This intensive will provide a safe and fun environment to explore improvisation and enhance student’s acting skills. With an emphasis on teamwork, students will be expected to work together towards a performance at the end of the week for friends and family to attend.
Improvisation is a skill that requires listening, honesty and teamwork. Practicing impro skills forces individuals to put others before themselves, and acquire an acute awareness of their surroundings. With no script, improvisers rely on their ability to listen, adapt and create in order engage the audience through storytelling. Practicing improvisation betters communication skills and teaches students how listen carefully and share the spotlight.
