Event description

Description

”Talking about Recovery".

As a result of mental illness, a person may look forward to very different future than expected. This does not mean a future that is unhappy or unfulfilled. Recovery - achieving a satisfying life - is absolutely possible. As supporters, we can help our loved ones define and achieve their recovery. This is a day of training for families (natural supporters) and professionals. Together, we will learn how to help our loved ones build paths to Recovery, using the Personal Recovery Outcome Model (PROM).

Keynote Speaker and trainer: Dr Skye Barbic
A dynamic teacher and researcher, who herself has lived experience, developed PROM - a
comprehensive measure of personal recovery for people with serious mental health conditions such as schizophrenia.
