Lovingkindess: A daylong meditation retreat with Vimalasara and Brian
Event Information
Description
Lovingkindness or Metta Bhavana, is a powerful form of Buddhist meditation that reconnects us with our natural capcity to be open-hearted with ourselves and with others. One of four Brahma Viharas, or Sublime Attitudes, Lovingkindness uses phrases and visualizations to cultivate a sense of friendliness, kindness, and love, which is our birthright.
This daylong retreat might be a fit for both novice and relative newcomers to meditation and Buddhist practice. We intend to practice at a relaxed pace, with a mix of discussing Buddhist principles, small group work, and practicing seated and walking meditation.
This is intended to be a welcoming / safe space for people of all backgrounds, including people of colour and people from LGBTQ communities. The venue is wheelchair-accessible. There is no need to be Buddhist or to abandon existing beliefs / practices to participate in this retreat.
