Luis Alberto Urrea, author of the landmark, Pulitzer Prize finalist The Devil’s Highway, joins us to discuss his new novel, Good Night, Irene.
In the tradition of The Nightingale and Transcription, this work is a searing epic based on the magnificent and true story of heroic Red Cross women. Taking as inspiration his mother’s own Red Cross service, the author has delivered an overlooked story of women’s heroism in World War II with this affecting and uplifting portrait of friendship and valor in harrowing circumstances.
Question and answer session and book signing to follow. Books available for purchase.
