Lunch & learn webinar: Copyright Infrastructure | Philippe Rixhon

The Coalition for the Diversity of Cultural Expressions is organizing a "Lunch & learn" webinar on December 6 on copyright infrastructure. The event is organized in partnership with ALAI Canada.

The creative industries request fair, appropriate, proportional, and transparent remuneration of authors and creators. That will only be possible if reliable, current, exhaustive, and interoperable rights data are accessible in real-time. The presentation by Philippe Rixhon will cover the Open Rights Data Framework proposed in the recent "Study on Copyright and New Technologies" published by the European Commission, and the Open Rights Data Exchange developed with the support of the Estonian Government.

About Philippe Rixhon

Philippe Rixhon works on digital media rights with creative enterprises, service providers, trade associations, law firms and government agencies. As an innovation trailblazer, he assembles and leads prestigious multi-disciplinary teams to initiate, create and operate ground-breaking solutions.

Managing Director of Philippe Rixhon Associates, he co-authored the study on Copyright and New Technologies published by the European Commission in March 2022. Philippe is the CEO of Digiciti, the company building an Open Rights Data Exchange. He is also an Industry Associate at the Centre for Blockchain Technologies (University College London), member of the Board of Advisors at the ISCC Foundation (International Standard Content Code), and an expert at ISO working on NFTs and smart contracts.

Philippe hold degrees in engineering, management, theatre directing, and philosophy. He is an honorary Doctor of Arts in recognition of outstanding contributions to performing arts creation, production, and technology.
