In this tutorial you will learn how to use the free and open-source software Weka 3 to for machine learning.

Machine learning refers to the science of building models that learn to perform tasks from data. Common machine learning tasks include learning to predict labels called classification and forecast future values from numerical data like sales and profit.

Weka 3 is a free tool available on a GNU license that uses a friendly graphical user interface in order to build machine learning models. Weka supports a wide collection of algorithms like data preparation, classification, regression, clustering and association rule mining.

In this tutorial you will learn how to build classification and regression models from simple datasets to predict both categorical and numerical variables.

The tutorial is geared toward beginners and no prior knowledge of machine learning is required.

The workshop will take place at the Creation Loft, second floor of the North York Central library located at 5120 Yonge Street, North York. Registration required, as space is limited.

The program is open to everyone. For further information please contact clinnovationhub@tpl.ca.
