About this event
Do you identify as Mad or mentally ill? Would you like to meet other Mad and Mentally ill folks? Join us for a supportive, informative safe(r) space to engage in discussion regarding madness and mad experiences!
This Thursday March 17th we are delving into Interpersonal relationships and love as MAD Folks. Discussions will be open and casual, with a general focus on a specific topic. This group will not be diagnosing folks but will be providing a space for discussion for folks within the community
During this discussion, we will be deconstructing boundaries and exploring how boundaries can be sanist. Discussing how to recognize toxicity and abuse in all relationships. As well as finding your people (people who understand you for you and don’t try to change you).
Discussion groups will be facilitated by Jamie Quinn who is mad-identifying and has experience in working within the Mad community to reframe and challenge the narratives surrounding madness.
We encourage all participants to share their stories, feelings and experiences, but it is not a requirement. We want to ensure that this group is comfortable for everyone. There will be active listeners available.
All Mad and mentally ill students and community members are welcome! You do not need to have a formal diagnosis or openly identify as mentally ill.
If you have any questions or access needs please feel free to contact us at yfsaccesscentre@csg.ca
