The Jewish Book Month Keynote Event

A Montreal Exclusive! Join us for a very special event at the Temple Emanu-El-Beth-Sholom (4100 Sherbrooke St. W.) in Westmount to hear two of today’s most popular and celebrated writers, Jodi Picoult and Jennifer Finney Boylan, talk about their collaborative novel, Mad Honey - a conversation with Rabbi Lisa Grushcow.

Mad Honey is a soul-stirring novel about what we choose to keep from our past and what we choose to leave behind. The picture-perfect life of Olivia McAfee is upended when her husband (a brilliant cardio-thoracic surgeon) reveals a darker side. Returning with her son, Asher, to her sleepy New Hampshire hometown in the house she grew up in, she takes over her father’s beekeeping business in an attempt to start her life over. Lily Campanello is also familiar with do-overs, too. When she and her mom relocate to Adams, New Hampshire, for her final year of high school, they both hope it will be a fresh start. These new beginnings are exactly what Olivia and Lily need. Their paths cross when Asher falls for the new girl in school, and Lily can’t help but fall for him, too. But then a mysterious death puts her son in the hot seat and as the case against him unfolds, she realizes he’s hidden more than he’s shared with her.

Mad Honey is a riveting novel of suspense, an unforgettable love story, and a moving and powerful exploration of the secrets we keep and the risks we take in order to become ourselves.
