Sinfonia Toronto invites classical music lovers, musicians, and anyone interested in the current state and the future forward of the art.

About this Event

Sinfonia Toronto's Maestro Nurhan Arman will chat and answer musical questions. He will discuss Sinfonia Toronto’s plans for moving forward, and will address some "anything/everything” musical curiosity.

Nurhan Arman has appeared to critical acclaim in France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Belgium, Hungary, Portugal, Russia, Poland, Romania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Armenia, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, Dominican Republic and throughout the US and Canada. Currently Music Director of Sinfonia Toronto, he was Music Director of Canada’s Symphony New Brunswick for fifteen seasons. He has also served as Principal Guest Conductor of the Armenian Philharmonic.

Maestro Arman has recorded for CBC Radio, PBS, Radio Moscow, Polish Broadcasting, Czech Radio, Korean Broadcasting, Lithuanian TV, Armenian Radio and TV. He has served as an adjudicator for the International Fitelberg Conducting Competition, Canada Council Conducting Competition and Heinz Unger Competition, and has taught conducting at the Orford Arts Centre, Northern Music Festival and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto.

Among the many orchestras conducted by Nurhan Arman are the Moscow Philharmonic, Belgrade Philharmonic, Deutsches Kammerorchester Frankfurt, Arpeggione Kammerorchester, Orchestra Sinfonica di Roma, San Remo Philharmonic, Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali, l'Orchestre Regional d'Ile de France, Florence Chamber Orchestra, l’Orchestra da Camera Milano Classica, Orchestra Sinfonica Rossini, Lisbon Metropolitan Orchestra, Hungarian Philharmonic, Lithuanian Philharmonic, Filarmonica Moldova, Pilsen Radio Symphony, Silesian State Philharmonic, Bucharest Philharmonic, National Arts Centre Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Orchestra London and others across Canada.
