The Maker Jam is a combination of two events: the ''Game Jam'' and the ''MakerCon''. Two opportunities of joining a team competition to build, discuss, and innovate during 48 hours!

The Game Jam is an event where teams are asked to create a game (in any form) based on a specific topic over a weekend. The Game Jam is an opportunity to learn about a specific topic and to communicate about it. The topic of this year Game Jam will be revealed at the beginning of the event (in the field of the environment). There will be the possibility to submit a low-tech (board game, etc) or high-tech (video game, etc) game.

The MakerCon is an event, where community members present to students a challenge to take up over a weekend. The objective of the MakerCon is to offer an opportunity for makers, entrepreneurs, hobbyists, and the students to meet, and to complete an innovative design.  Throughout the weekend, the participants will work together as a multidisciplinary team to “make” and fabricate a product.

A minimum of 2 people and a maximum of 6 people are required to form a team. In the case where you do not have any partners, no worries, you can find a group after the opening ceremony!

The event will be held from March 3rd starting at 7:00p.m. to March 5th, 5:00p.m. At the end of the event, each team will present their work to the judges on the last day.

Meals and snacks will be provided to the participants during the weekend. More than 2,000$ in cash prizes will be shared between the winning teams.

Le Maker Jam est une combinaison de deux événements : le « Game Jam » et le « MakerCon ». Deux occasions de participer à une compétition en équipe pour construire, discuter et innover durant 48 heures !

Le Game Jam est un événement durant lequel les équipes sont invitées à créer un jeu (sous n'importe quelle forme) à propos d’un sujet spécifique pendant un week-end. Le Game Jam est une occasion d'en apprendre plus sur un sujet spécifique et de communiquer à son propos. Le sujet du Game Jam de cette année sera révélé au début de l'événement (dans le champ de l’environnement). Il y aura la possibilité de présenter un jeu low-tech (jeu de société, etc) ou high-tech (jeu vidéo, etc).

Le MakerCon est un événement au cours duquel des membres de la communauté présentent aux étudiants un défi à relever pendant un week-end. L'objectif du MakerCon est d'offrir une opportunité aux entrepreneurs, aux amateurs et aux étudiants de se rencontrer et de réaliser un projet innovant.  Tout au long du week-end, les participants travailleront ensemble en tant qu'équipes pluridisciplinaires pour fabriquer un produit (dans le champ de l’environnement).

Une équipe doit être composée d'un minimum de 2 personnes et d'un maximum de 6 personnes. Dans le cas où vous n'auriez pas de partenaires, pas d'inquiétude, vous pouvez trouver un groupe après la cérémonie d'ouverture!

L'événement se déroulera du 3 mars à partir de 19h00 jusqu’au 5 mars à 17h. À la fin de l'événement, chaque équipe présentera son travail aux juges.

Les repas et collations seront fournis aux participants pendant le week-end. Plus de 2 000$ de prix en argent seront partagés entre les équipes gagnantes.
