PROGRAMS

Tuesdays 4:30-7:30PM – Minecraft Drop-in (upstairs)

At our Minecraft drop-in, kids can play Minecraft and explore how to create skins, install mods, learn about adventure maps, and even set up a server or connect to existing servers so you can play in multi-player with everyone there. Kids and teens can also experiment with converting Minecraft objects to 3D models, and then testing out printing on our 3D printer.

Tuesdays 4:30-7:30PM – Open Make (downstairs)

Are your kids into Do-It-Yourself, crafts, tinkering, woodworking, electronics, or interested in learning about 3D modelling and 3D printing, toy hacking or making other stuff? Perhaps they like taking things like small electronics apart to learn how they work?

This open shop is great for beginners, as no prior knowledge or experience is necessary, our instructors and mentors will teach them what they need to know! If they already have some experience with different materials and tools, they can learn how to build more advanced projects.

Starting at 4:30 pm and going until 7:30 pm every Tuesday, our doors are open and our staff will be on hand to help you with everything from woodworking to electronics. You can use our tools and expertise to start creating your next project.

Wednesdays 4:30-6:30PM: Arduino Robotics (downstairs)

Have you ever wanted to build a robot? At our Robotics program, kids will come up with an idea and make it happen! Use an Arduino (a micro controller and open source software) to learn about electronics and programming, and control LED lights, motors, and sensors. Some previous projects include a shark with a jaw that opens and closes when it senses motion, a remote controlled shoe, and a robotic claw.

Wednesdays 4:30-6:30PM: Beginner Minecraft (upstairs)

Seen someone playing minecraft and thought it looked cool? Working on surviving your first night? Or maybe you know the game but want to do even more with it. In Beginner Minecraft we will teach you the ins and outs of surviving, defeating monsters and mastering your environment. We’ll show you cool multiplayer worlds and how to build like a pro. Come hone your minecraft skills so soon you can be a block building master.

Fridays 4:30-6:30PM: Advanced Minecraft (upstairs)

You’ve mastered Minecraft. You build like a youtuber. You may even know how to install mods and program redstone and command blocks. At Advanced Minecraft you’ll be able to take your game up a notch. Using what you already know and using new skills like worldedit you’ll be able to build something amazing. Work as a group to build a new world filling it with awesome surprises and show everyone how good a builder you truly are.

Fridays 4:30-6:30PM: MakerKids Inventions Class (downstairs)

Looking for something fun to do on Friday evenings? Come invent something! Use our tools and materials to create something amazing...whatever your imagination desires!
