Event description

Making A Living Making Art is a free professional development workshop series for creative entrepreneurs. The series provides opportunities for artists to gain valuable information, skills and insights on creating and sustaining a creative practice.

Join us for a digital version of Making A Living Making Art! Community arts facilitator and coach Sun - the Phoenix will join individual artists or collectives over videochat for a one-on-one 30 minute consultation. This is a great opportunity for artists to get personalized feedback on prospective projects, and ask questions to an industry expert from the comfort of your laptop. The consultations will take place on Zoom.

Topics you might want to discuss include Best Practises in Community Arts Education, including:

  • Using the arts as a tool for empowerment and engagement

  • Understanding and implementing equity and inclusion

  • Creating safe space to invite authentic engagement from participants around their identities and social issues that affect them

  • Practices around healing and well-being, and understanding them as acts of revolution

  • The importance of artistic integrity, technique, and creativity in the arts and arts education in community spaces

Please only reserve 1 ticket per person. If you reserve multiple tickets they will be canceled so as many artists can be supported as possible.
