Event description
In our workshop, you will experience the tranquillity that comes from working with geometric shapes and help unleash your inner artist.

About this Event

Mandalas were described in the ancient Vedas of India dating back 2500 years ago. Mandala is the Sanskrit word for ‘circle.’ They are known in Hinduism and Buddhism as a graphic symbol representing the universe. Circles and geometric patterns can be found everywhere throughout nature: rings in a tree, layers of an onion, artichoke Roses.

As a sacred symbol, the original purpose of a Mandala was as a meditation or prayer device used for healing and to awaken one’s true self. Mandalas have also been known to enhance creativity, act as stress relief and help with problem solving. In some clinical studies mandalas have shown to boost the immune system, reduce stress and pain, lower blood pressure, promote sleep and ease depression.

There is something calm, quiet and healing in the simplicity of the Mandala. In our workshop you will experience the tranquillity that comes from working with geometric shapes and symbols and help unleash your inner artist. This is a beginner class that requires no previous experience to create beautiful, meaningful Mandalas.
