Making Sourdough Bread at Home - an Introduction
Event Information
Description
In this class we will attempt to demystify sourdough baking and show you how easy it is to do in your own kitchen. This class will be interactive and hands on. We will cover how to make your own sourdough ‘starter’ or culture, what tools you need to bake bread at home, and how to go about baking your own bread from start to finish.
You will be able to take home sourdough starter with you - please bring a container with a lid if you would like to do so.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
Jordan Weisz has worked in the food and hospitality industry for the better half of a decade and is in the process of opening his own restaurant here in Hamilton. He has been teaching cooking workshops of all sorts for about 5 years with the goal of making cooking tasty and healthy food less intimidating to everyone no matter what their background or experience level. Although he is relatively new to baking bread, Jordan has been baking sourdough for over a year now and has become very much obsessed with the craft of baking the perfect bread. Overall, he tries and make food fun, approachable and accessible to all.
