This free half-day session will review existing digital resources for Alberta’s public and education sectors that create efficiencies and improve computational literacy. It will also identify existing gaps.

Representatives from Cybera will provide an overview of its new 2019-22 strategy, as well as the services its members have access to, including:

• Internet Buying Group (the internet bulk buying program)
• Virtual Firewall Service
• High-speed National Research and Education Network
• ShareIT (the hardware/software bulk buying program)
• Rapid Access Cloud (instant-access cloud infrastructure)
• Data Science For Albertans
• Government advocacy
• Technology-neutral advice/consultations

The session will also include group brainstorming to explore the short- and long-term digital needs of Alberta's public sector. The results of these discussions will help Cybera prioritize actions and advocacy efforts.

This is an opportunity for participants to learn more about the work Cybera is doing to help Alberta succeed, as well as build collaborations with local schools, libraries, and research and government institutions.
