Description

Councillor Neethan Shan is hosting the Malvern 2025 Summit in partnership with Toronto District School Board Trustee, Abdul Hai Patel.

Date: October 28th, 2017

Time: 10am-4pm

Place: Lester B Pearson Collegiate Institute

This event aims to bring together various stakeholders and community members who live and/or work in Malvern to participate in a collective social planning day. The objective is to gather ideas and strategies in order to further improve and strengthen our neighbourhood economically, socially and culturally.

This annual summit focuses on developing action plans for the community for the next eight years, leading up to the year 2025 in the following eight focus areas:

Morning Breakout Sessions (11:15 AM- 12:30 PM)

1. Transit and Transportation (AM)

2. Community Services (AM)

3. Arts, Culture & Heritage (AM)

4. Business Development and Employment (AM)

Afternoon Breakout Sessions (1:30 PM- 2:45 PM)

5. Community Safety (PM)

6. Parks & Environment (PM)

7. Education & Student Engagement (PM)

8. Affordable Housing and Tenant Rights (PM)

All attendees will be given an opportunity to actively participate in planning for two of the eight areas listed above through breakout sessions. There will also be an opportunity to contribute to the other six areas should participants feel the desire to do so in the form of written feedback.

Admission to the summit is free of charge but space is limited so it is highly recommended to register as soon as possible to reserve your spot.


Note: Parking is free at the location, however it is first come first serve. Lunch and refreshments will be provided!
