Event description

Description

As mentioned at our 2017 Fall Members Meeting, Ottawa Branch of the National Association of Federal Retirees, in conjunction with Chartered Professional Accountants Canada (CPA Canada), invites you to a learning session on managing your finances in retirement.

This one-hour learning session will be presented in English by a finance professional who is also a CPA volunteer and who will use material developed by CPA Canada. The learning objectives for participants are to:

  • understand why it’s so important to manage finances in retirement
  • learn the art of budgeting
  • understand how to stretch your retirement resources
  • learn about the different stages of retirement

We hope to see you there. Note: Seats are limited and you must register if you wish to attend.

If the 11:15 a.m. session is full, there is another English session scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on November 30, 2017. If this session also fills up and there are waiting lists, Federal Retirees Ottawa Branch will try to offer this topic again in the new year. The outline of the learning session follows:

  • the importance of managing your retirement
    • the art of budgeting
    • balancing the budget
    • sources of retirement income
    • expenses
    • stretching your retirement resources
  • common retirement strategies
  • the three stages of retirement
  • tools and resources
  • Q&A
