Join local Artist Alan for a unique painting workshop! Painting a rock seems like such an easy concept, but there is a lot more to it than you might realize. During this workshop you will learn about what the best paints are for this type of project, how to seal them, dotting techniques and lots more.

Mandala dotting art is much more than the end product. It is a meditative process and the expression of your soul. This style of art is known for being therapeutic and very relaxing.

Participants will be guided through the steps with ease as they create a couple of beautifully painting rocks to take home to display. What can you do with your creation? The possibilities are truly endless! You can display it as a fabulous décor piece for your home, garden, patio or yoga room/ Use it as a paper weight, book end or gift it to a friend.

Instructor Bio:

Alan Pippy is a Nova Scotian Artist, who has enjoyed drawing and mixed media art since an early age. In his younger years he enjoyed blacksmithing, sculpture, drawing and still life painting. His most recent passion for creativity includes, building guitars and a wide range of mixed media arts.

Alan is friendly, soft spoken and enjoys sharing his love for art with others. He believes that there is an artist hidden inside of all us and that having an open mind is the key to tapping into your creative self.

As an eco-minded entrepreneur, Alan is passionate about educating others about reducing their carbon footprint through sustainable living.

What can you expect during a workshop at Sparkles n' Sawdust Studio?

▪ Reduced class size (4 people maximum per workshop)

▪ Social distancing, with individual trifold plexiglass cubicles for each participant (spaced 2 meters apart)

▪ We have a strict zero contact policy

▪ All of the supplies divided up in advance, with no sharing needed

▪ Wall mounted hand sanitizer, that we ask customers to use upon entry

▪ Controlled environment - with no foot traffic!

▪ Thoroughly sanitized before each workshop

▪ Masks are required when participating in any in-person workshop at Sparkles n' Sawdust Studio. We know that it's not fun to wear them but, we want to keep everyone safe while, continuing to spread the joy of creativity!
