Adversity- everyone faces it in some way in some part of their life. Some people have struggled with health, mental health, relationships, money, family or career. Whatever adversity you face in your life, this event exists to help you face, grow and be a better version of yourself despite adversity.

On May 15th, we invite three game-changing leaders to take our stage to share their unique journey to overcoming adversity and living their dreams. We have found 3 men who have faced real adversity, from dealing with crushing anxiety, to battling depression and attempting suicide to leaving it all behind in an attempt to find ones self traveling the globe, these three men have powerful and inspiring stories which will change the way you deal with adversity in your life.

If you've ever wondered if you are on the right path, wondered how to effectively deal and overcome the major challenges in your life or simply where to even begin this evening will be incredibly valuable for you.

ManTalks Overcoming Adversity SPEAKERS:

Dana Cavalea spent 12 years with the New York Yankees Organization, most of those years as the Director of Strength and Conditioning & Performance Enhancement, winning a World Series in 2009. During his MLB Career he was the Head Strength Coach for the 2008 All-Star Game, as well as the 2009 Recipient of the Nolan Ryan Top Strength Coach Award.

Currently, he is a high performance speaker and consultant to Pro Athletes, Entrepreneurs, Business Executives and Workforces on lifestyle strategies to reduce stress, improve work/ home-life, daily performance outcomes and most importantly: How to Live Like A Pro.

Outside of speaking, he is the Principal and Founder of The Dana Cavalea Companies, a diversified holdings Company with assets in various health, fitness, rehabilitation and wellness brands.

Dana has formulated plans and strategies to improve sleep, reduce pain, lower stress, improve body composition, speed-strength-power as well as mindset training for maximal performance which he delivers to audiences across multiple platforms and business entities.

Jesse Israel is a community builder with a passion for creating experiences around human connection. He's the founder of The Big Quiet, a mass meditation series that hosts large-scale moments of quiet and culture at iconic landmarks like SummerStage Central Park and at the top of the World Trade Center. He's also the founder of Medi Club, a purpose-driven community of thousands of young New Yorkers that come together to meditate and have real-talk conversations. Jesse speaks at Fortune 500 companies, advises community-driven startups and rides with the Cyclones Bike Club. Prior to his current work, Jesse was a co-founder at Cantora -- a record label turned technology venture studio responsible for signing bands like MGMT and for building businesses with talent as diverse as the The Wu Tang Clan's GZA and Frank Sinatra Enterprises.

Eduardo Placer believes that every person has a voice and a story to share. He works with leaders and changemakers at the intersection of voice, body and mind so they share from a place of power and not from a place of panic. He is the CEO and Founder of Fearless Communicators a dynamic public speaking coaching business which seeks to work with those poised to make the biggest impact on the planet and elevate the way they speak and share their message. Prior to Fearless Communicators, he was a professional actor for over 15 years, appearing in over 38 productions. As a coach his clients include Google, Merrill Lynch - Bank of America, Autodesk and the Wharton School of Business. Private Clients include CEO’s of Tech Start Ups, Social Entrepreneurs, and UN Diplomats. Eduardo has a BA in English from the University of Pennsylvania and an MFA in Acting from the University of California, San Diego. He loves taking pictures jumping in the air (like the one to the right!), he loves #hashtags, and he's known to spontaneously burst into song.
