Meet the panelists

Andrew Morden is the President and CEO of Corvus Energy. He’s spent 16 years working at the executive management level where he has focused on strategic planning, operations, M&A, corporate finance and raising venture, private equity and public market financing.

Andrew has held senior management positions in large, medium and startup companies and has a proven track record as a strategic leader in planning, implementing and leading M&A, operational best practice, restructuring, rapid growth, and change management initiatives. Andrew is a Chartered Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from UBC.

Kari L. Yuers, FACI, is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Kryton International Inc., an industry leading concrete waterproofing manufacturer based in Vancouver. Under Kari's leadership, Kryton has flourished from a small family-run business to a company that serves over 40 countries, and was the recipient of “BCBusiness’s Top 10 Companies to Work for in BC” for four consecutive years.

As well as being recognized with numerous awards including an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (2003) and an Influential Woman in Business Award (2012), Kari also serves on a number of influential committees at both the provincial and industry level. As Chair of American Concrete Institute’s International Advisory Committee, Kari helps to implement strategies to foster relationships with the global concrete community in over 100 countries.

Lance Richardson is the Vice President of operations at Arc’teryx. Having seen the company grow 60-fold since he joined in 1996, he’s been instrumental in bringing it to its status as a leading global apparel manufacturing company within the outdoor and tactical industries.

With over 19 years of outdoor and apparel experience in the field of manufacturing operations, Lance is a key member of the company’s Senior Management team, with a proven track record managing successful business process and human resources changes in a fast paced environment. He has helped take the company from $4.2 million to over $250 million with a consistent delivery of 10%+ ebit.

Richard Kouwenhoven has served as Hemlock’s President & Chief Operating Officer since November 2012. A second-generation family member in the business, Richard is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company, taking over from his father and the company founder, Dick Kouwenhoven. Alongside the talented and dedicated team at Hemlock, Richard has helped position the company as both a local and international print industry leader. The company continues to be recognized for the quality of its work and its innovative business practices, most recently as the 2014 CAFÉ Vancouver Family Enterprise of the Year and as Canada’s Most Environmentally Progressive Printer for 2014.
