We are pleased to announce that through a collaboration between Wild Blue Meditation (a meditation-specific service originating in Dr. Sogge’s mindfulness and compassion courses taught via Sogge & Associates Practice in Psychology) and yoga teacher Katherine Marr we will be offering our first two day meditation and yoga retreat at the beautiful Domaine Saint Bernard in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, Canada March 24-26, 2016. Dr. Kimberly Sogge C.Psych. is a clinical health psychologist in private practice in Ottawa www.drsogge.com specializing in mindfulness and compassion based interventions and evidence-based treatments for depression, anxiety and eating disorders. Dr. Sogge is also a trained yoga teacher (RYT200) and mindfulness meditation teacher (registered Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction with Center for Mindfulness in Medicine, Healthcare and Society, Mindful Self Compassion trained teacher with the Center for Mindful Self Compassion founded by Drs Kristin Neff and Christopher Germer) trained in the secular buddhist tradition at Spirit Rock Meditation Center (Mindfulness Yoga and Meditation Teacher Program MYMT3) and with meditation teacher Mark Coleman (Spirit Rock founding teacher, founder ofAwake in the Wild) a leader in nature-based insight meditation practice and the Thai Forest meditation tradition.
Kat Marr MA, CCC, E-RYT 200 holds a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from the Adler School of Professional Psychology in Vancouver. She is a certified member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, a Registered Yoga Teacher, and is currently enrolled in an 800 hour yoga therapy certification program with Yoga Therapy Toronto. She has over twelve years experience in social services, youth and family intervention, counselling, group facilitation, program coordination, and teaching. Kat has always been deeply interested in understanding human behaviour, the human mind, and learning ways of reducing symptoms of suffering for healthier relationships with the self and others. She is trained/ certified in the Collaborative Problem Solving model (Tier 2), Restorative Circles, and Response Ability Pathways®through the Circle of Courage® philosophy of positive youth development.
