Going Deeper: How to Shift the Focus to Coach the Person, not the Problem when the Client Feels Stuck
Even experienced coaches fall into the trap of focusing on the problems clients bring to their sessions, especially when the client has a difficult time moving out of their emotions and perspective.
If your coaching stays focused on these dilemmas, the coaching feels like it is going in circles. In the end, your clients might find steps they are willing to take, but they don’t gain the new awareness that will help them avoid similar problems in the future.
Shifting the client from problem-solving; expanding their awareness and seeing how they might relate to the situation differently.
You will discover new applications of your coaching competencies and learn three ways to prepare your mind for a possibly difficult coaching session. There will be time for questions so we can, together, explore what you will do differently in your own coaching engagements.
