Event description

Description

Come and enrich your spiritual life, find fellowship and listen to these inspiring speakers:

Al Barbarino

Master of Ceremonies and guest singer and speaker, Al Barbarino is a professional religious singer who has recorded many albums of spiritual and inspirational songs over the last 20+ years. His repertoire combines original compositions with traditional hymns and modern inspirational songs. He is a Lay Franciscan of the St. Padre Pio Shelter with the Friars of the Renewal in the Bronx, an active member of the Knights of Columbus and works part time as counselor in a high-security youth prison in New York city. He made the goal of his ministry clear, “I am not here just to sell tapes or entertain you, but I come to evangelize and raise money for the poor.” All proceeds from his recordings support the Friars’ ministry for the poor, the international outreach of Croatian Relief Services, as well as needy families of the parish where he sings. The late Fr. Benedict Groeschel, CFR, said of Al, “He is a tireless witness for Jesus...[who has] inspired countless people to practice their faith...Our Church needs more people like him.”

Father Don Calloway, MIC

A convert to Catholicism, Fr. Calloway is the Vocation Director of the Congregation of Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, Stockbridge, MA. Before his dramatic conversion to Catholicism he led a tumultuous life: he was a high school dropout who had been kicked out of a foreign country, acquired an addiction to drugs, was institutionalized twice, thrown in jail multiple times and thought of committing suicide. Then Our Lady interceded and he had a radical conversion which culminated in his decision to become a priest. Father Calloway’s modern-day St. Augustine story is a testament to the incredible mercy of God that is available to everyone, without exception, who is open to receiving it. Father has earned several theological degrees from various universities and has written several books on God’s mercy, the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Rosary. An extremely popular, humourous and compelling conference speaker, he is in high demand throughout the world.

Susan Tassone

Susan holds a M.A. in Religious Education and B.A. in Sociology from Loyola University in Chicago. She is recognized as leading the “purgatory movement” in the world. A popular and dynamic conference and retreat speaker, she has a unique ability to bring the Saints and Purgatory alive, captivating audiences worldwide. Susan is a regular guest on EWTN and has been dubbed the “Purgatory Lady” by the network. Also a regular guest on all national Catholic radio talk shows, she has given hundreds of radio interviews, writes regularly for numerous magazines (featured on the cover of Catholic Digest, Nov. 2017), publications, social media, and worldwide websites. Her last three books hit the top of not one but three major charts: #1 Best Seller at Our Sunday Visitor, EWTN’s #1 Best Selling books, and #1 Best Sellers Rank in “Spirituality” and “Meditations” on Amazon. Cardinals, Nuncios, and Bishops all over the Catholic world praise her work.
