Description

With the impending legalization of marijuana in Alberta, this convening is meant to inform the audience about the impact of marijuana and other addictive substances on the adolescent brain and explore emerging strategies in prevention.


Dr. Diana Dow-Edwards

Diana served as a Fulbright/Palix Foundation Distinguished Visiting Scholar 2015-2016 and is currently working with scientists at the University of Lethbridge, Alberta, on the effects of early stress and pre-pubertal cannabinoid administration on cellular morphology of the pre-frontal cortex of the rat and examining whether these alterations can be normalized by enrichment or other potential therapeutic interventions.

Parking for guests is available at the Centre Street Church - 3900 2 St NE

Fresh Start will be providing a shuttle service to and from the Center Street Church parking lot and the Fresh Start Recovery Centre. Please account for the shuttle service when planning your arrival time.
