Nick Brusatore

Nick Brusatore is known globally for being a top designer and leader in vertical farming technology. He was the Chairman of the Applied Research Committee for BCIT for several years and was nominated for the AGRI Award of Excellence for Canada in 2012. Nick is the original designer of Terrasphere Systems started in 2001 and currently, the major shareholder and designer of Vertical Designs Ltd started in 2010. Nick brings over 17 years experience in AGRI Designs, plant physiology and the manipulation of metabolic pathways to achieve organic chemistry.

Former Executive Operating Officer

Chief Gibby Jacob will address automated vertical farming and how this can affect First Nations with job creation, education, diabetes, and overall sustainable needs for remote regions in Canada.

Chief Gibby Jacob, whose ancestral name is Kákeltn siyám, carries the title of hereditary Chief and is a member of the Squamish Nation located in North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Chief Jacob was an elected Councilor, since December 1981 serving eight consecutive four-year terms, ending in 2013. Chief Jacob was the Executive Operating Officer of Intergovernmental Relations, Natural Resources and Revenue for the Squamish Nation.

Chief Gibby Jacob was a key figure in welcoming the World to Vancouver for the 2010 Olympic Winter and Paralympic Games. His involvement included working closely with the Vancouver Organizing Committee during the Bid process, and also with the Lil’wat Nation, Musqueam First Nation, and the Tsleil-Waututh First Nation in the formation of the Four Host First Nations, which is the first organization of its’ kind in Olympic history.
