Event description

Description

This month’s topic is ‘Aging Gracefully - hormones, women's health, & aging'

The Markham Wellness Circle encourages Markham residents to cultivate health and well being through education and activities that are focused on the three elements of wellness: body, mind, and spirit. All events are free!

Hear from a panel of four Markham experts who will discuss the topic, do 15-minute presentations/demos/activities, and then answer questions from the audience as a panel. You will leave with ideas you can put into practice and a free ‘swag bag’ from Markham wellness businesses. Free door prizes will also be drawn for attendees.

Our panel members

We have three Markham experts lined-up for this event!

Igor is the author of 5 books on exercise and nutrition, among them, STOP EXERCISING! The Way You Are Doing it Now and The Mental Health Prescription. Igor has been selected as one of the top 5 personal trainers in Toronto by the Metro News newspaper, and has been featured in the Toronto Star's "retirement" section about why retirees hire personal trainers. Together with his team of fitness professionals, he helps people age gracefully, and turn back the clock, so that people can stay active, mobile, and strong well into their older years. If you'd like to get a FREE digital copy of Igor's book, STOP EXERCISING, visit http://www.FitnessSolutionsPlus.ca/StopExercising

FAQs

Where in the library is this?

When you enter the library it's in the activity rooms to the left. There will be a big sign and the workers at the library can alsol direct you.

Can I bring my kids/Baby?

Yes! We are just beside the kids section of the library - so if they need a break, you can always leave the room. This is session deals with some mature subject matter -- there is wifi so some kids will be at the back with headphones watching Netflix on their devices. :D

Do I need to RSVP? Do I need a ticket? What if it says sold-out?

No need to bring a ticket, just come! The RSVP helps us get a sense on how many people will come and it will also send you a reminder of the event. If it says sold-out or it's the day of the event and not letting you RSVP - no worries! Please come! There is always lots of space but please note that only the first 40 people will get swag bags.

It’s free? What’s the catch?

100% free. 100% awesome! This event is run by volunteers with the space donated by the library to support community wellness programing. All panel speakers are local and volunteers. All swag bag and door prizes are donated. These events come together because each part truly believes that Markham residents health can be improved if they are provided with information and that we should work together to build a wellness community!

Can I donate something?

You are welcome to donate to our upcoming events! We accept flyers, coupons, and samples for the swag bags and larger prizes as door prizes. We will mention door prize sponsorship in our social media and newsletter. You can come to this event and drop off your donation or contact us for our porch drop-off box donation: markhamwellnesscircle@gmail.com
