All funds raised go directly to supporting MARL's human rights educational programming.
We are excited and honoured to announce that James Favel, co-founder of the Bear Clan Patrol, will be this year’s keynote speaker at our Human Rights Gala.
James is a true hero who puts his community before himself. His tireless work to create safe communities has touched the lives of countless people and has inspired many Winnipeggers to work for a better community.
The concept behind the Bear Clan Patrol involves members of the community working to provide personal security to their inner city community in a non-threatening, non-violent, non-judgmental and supportive way. The Bear Clan draws its direction from traditional Indigenous philosophies and practices.
The work of James and the Bear Clan Patrol goes hand in hand with MARL’s vision of creating a community where people’s diversity is valued, liberties are respected, and rights are lived.
We hope that you can join us at this year’s MARL Human Rights Gala and hear more about James’ inspiring story!
