Course Overview

The Family Life Centre is hosting a Marriage preperation course for engaged couples. The course will include the PREPARE® Materials that couples will need to complete before the course date. The course will include presentations to the group along with times for couple discussions.

Registered Psychotherapists Wilma and Stephen will be walking couples through the assements along with talking about topics such as: Stressors in relationships, strengths, areas of growth, and building better communication skills.


The course will be using the Prepare- Enrich materials which is cost $35US. The materials must be completed by January 24th 2018.Completed materials will be given to couples the day of the workshop.

The Prepare-Enrich materials have been designed to help couples identify their strengths and weaknesses, major sources of stress, and to build better communication and conflict-resolution skills. First developed by psychologist David Olson, the assessment tool has a strong research and scientific background and has been updated a number of times following additional research. Over 3 million couples from a variety of ethnic, nationalities, and faith backgrounds have completed the inventory, and more than 8000 professional facilitators in Canada use it regularly.

Couples will be emailed a link to the Enrich Canada to completethe online inventory when they sign up and purchase their tickets through Eventbrite.

Wilma and Stephen will help couples go over their results during the workshop.


Wilma NeversWilma Nevers, MDiv, RP, RMFT

A certified Psychometrics practitioner, Wilma enjoys supporting people in their quest for career satisfaction and maximum personal potential. Wilma provides clinical supervision to therapists; psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families; and facilitates groups, seminars and workshops. She has passion and commitment for couple relationships, providing help through preparing for and strengthening marriages, parenting together, and healthy ways of separating and parenting should the need arise.

Stephen Parr

Stephen Parr, MA, RP

Steve’s 20 years working in international, cross-cultural settings in the areas of theological education, leadership and personnel have given him a valuable multicultural perspective on people and organizations. He has also worked with clients with ADHD and Bipolar Disorder. Steve has a passion for personal development and spirituality and is interested in topics such as trauma, eating disorders, anger management, life transitions and grief.


$150- Includes one ticket for a couple. The cost includes light refreshments, a light lunch, and the full day workshop. It does NOT include the cost of the PREPARE® materials.

*There are only spots for 20 couples.


Lunch will be included in the cost of the ticket. *please indicate if you have any food restrictions when you purchase your tickets.


9:00am - 4:00pm

*couples may register and arrive at 8:30am

The course will run all day with an hour long break for lunch and smaller breaks for light refreshments.


Tyndale charges $1 an hour for parking or $4 for a full day of parking. You can pay for parking and register your car at the main reception desk. You will need your license plate number to register your car.
