This year's theme is Reconnect • Revitalize • Recover It's time to register for the longest running and most informative Canadian Technical Conference for Brewing.  Please join us for this two day event January 26-28 at the Hilton, Mississauga/Meadowvale, Mississauga, Ontario.

After a year of being apart, it is time to reconnect with the latest brewing technology as well as fellow brewers, revitalize your plans and energy, and recover from a tough period in our lives. This year's sessions plan to address all these topics.

Wednesday January 26, 2022 (Brewery Bus Tour, Welcome Reception, Tap Takeover)

Annual Brewery Bus Tour and Tastings trip. (Optional with additional fee, limited seating) Our tour's theme is Recovery.  Each of the brewers will highlight what they did to survive and what challenges they faced while navigating through the pandemic. These short and  informal talks will be open for Q&A.

Thursday and Friday, January 27 - 28, 2022. We are planning a full day of sessions on Thursday and half-day on Friday. Registration fee includes breakfast both days and lunch on Thursday.

  • Malt - Impact of the 2021 Barley Crop on Brewers (Featuring a National Malt house, the Canadian Malting Barley Technical Centre and a brewer).
  • Panel of local Ontario Maltsters (Barn Owl Malt and Sugar Creek Malt)
  • Hops - Hop Oils - benefits and drawbacks .
  • Yeast Research at the University of Guelph (George van der Merwe). 
  • Brewing techniques - Improving Brewhouse Efficiency (James Tien - Silversmith Brewery).
  • Using PCR for detecting contaminants in the brewery (Aras Klimas).
  • Yeast - Serial Repitching Method for New England IPAs with Midfermentation Dry Hopping (Jessica Young - UC Davis).
  • How malt impacts your fermentation (Nate Ferguson).
  • Tasting - beers brewed by Niagara College students to highlight differences in brewing techniques and ingredients.
  • Safety Panel in conjunction with Jennifer MacFarlane of Workplace Safety.
  • Pre Start Health & Safety Reviews (Steve Harkness).
  • Sales - How Ontario Regulatory/Sales Framework changed through COVID-19; future trends. (Representative of AGCO).

Beer Stube 7:30 pm - 12am - Reconnect with old friends and make new friends,  featuring beers donated from breweries across Ontario.
