To complement MDN's monthly Dev Derby, Mozillians Toronto is hosting monthly workshops where local hackers can come out, see a presentation on the monthly topic, and then hack together in Mozilla Toronto's community space!
No experience necessary as our presenters and our community will be on hand to help you out, however we can't guarantee how much 1:1 help will be available. Don't worry though, submissions for the contest are open til the end of the month so you'll have lots of time to finish your demo.
