The Ontario Star Wars Collectors Alliance (OSWCA) would like to invite you to the second MTNBWY, a collector-run convention with an emphasis on the Canadian Star Wars connection.

Join us August 4th-6th, just outside Toronto in Oakville, ON. We’ve got some great special guests lined up AND we’ve added a vintage and modern Star Wars toy show on the Sunday!

More details to come, including guest announcements, but here’s an idea of what to expect:

Friday, August 4th

To kick off the weekend, join us for a casual dinner at the hotel with the convention's special guests. This is your chance to get an early look at exhibits, meet fellow collectors and chat with special guests before the main event. Dinner tickets required.

Saturday, August 5th

The May The North Convention takes place on Saturday. The day features panel discussions with some of the key people who designed and developed the vintage Star Wars universe. This includes former employees of Kenner and Irwin Toy/Kenner Canada, a reunion of Nelvana alumni who worked on the Star Wars Holiday Special, Droids & Ewoks cartoons and more. More details and guests to be announced!

All our guests will also be available for autographs (extra costs apply) and pics.

Stay into the evening for a trivia competition, colouring contest, charity raffles and auction. We'll have a cash bar and you're welcome to bring any Star Wars stuff you want to buy, sell or trade.

Your Saturday convention ticket also includes Early Bird access to the MTNBWY Toy Show on Sunday!

Sunday, August 6th

We've partnered with Canadian ToyCon to host the MTNBWY Toy Show at the Holiday Inn Oakville from 10am-3pm with EarlyBird entry at 9:30 am. Shop 2 rooms of vendors with the best vintage and modern Star Wars toys and collectibles. The Sunday MTNBWY Toy Show is open to the public. MTNBWY Saturday tickets include Early Bird Entry for Sunday's show.

All MTNBWY guests will also be available for autographs (extra costs apply).

Collector Archive Services (CAS) will be on-site and accepting in-person submissions for grading! Save the pain, risk and cost of shipping and drop off your items for grading at the show.

MAY THE NORTH BE WITH YOU is a non-profit event organized by the OSWCA. All funds from the charity raffles and auctions will be donated to Sick Kids Hospital.

Special Guests

John Celestri - Illustrator, Nelvana (Star Wars Holiday Special)

John has led a storied career in animation for decades, working on shows like He-Man, She-Ra, Carebears, and X-Men: Evolution. As the Directing Animator for Nelvana, John worked with George Lucas to illustrate Boba Fett’s iconic first appearance in the Star Wars Holiday Special (1978).

Brian Lemay - Layout Artist, Nelvana (Droids & Ewoks)

Brian was a layout artist for the Droids and Ewoks animated series. He has worked in the field for more than three decades on shows like Inspector Gadget, Smurfs, and Care Bears, also branching out into drawing comic characters and sculpting. He is a teacher and has written several books on animation.

Lawrence Jacobs - Animator, Assistant Director (The Star Wars Holiday Special & Ewoks)

Lawrence started working at Nelvana in 1977. He was an Animator on The Star Wars Holiday Special Boba Fett cartoon (1978) and was an Assistant Director on the Ewoks series (1985).
