One of the mandates of Sport Aurora is to celebrate excellence within the Aurora sport community. The Breakfast of Champions event does just that.
The Mayor's Breakfast of Champions is an annual multi-sport event in order to recognise, celebrate, reward, and publicise the achievements of individuals or teams and their coaches/managers who have won Provincial championships (or better) within their sports.
Each provincial champion was nominated by the Member Sport Organization for their accomplishments and will receive an award from Sport Aurora recognizing their achievement.
Congratulations Athletes, Coaches, Managers, and Parents
On behalf of Sport Aurora, we would like to celebrate you’re outstanding achievement this year at the 5th Annual Sport Aurora Breakfast of Champions. Your team has been recognized this year for achieving Provincial or National status and we would like to recognize and celebrate this achievement. On Sunday October 23, 2016, at Kings Riding Golf Club, we will be serving breakfast to all athletes, coaches, team managers, trainers and their parents from 9:00am - 1:00pm.
Our Guest speaker this year is Dr. Ivan Joseph, the Director of Athletics at Ryerson University. Ivan has previously been named the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics National Coach of the Year and three time Coach of the Year in the Heart of America Athletic Conference. In addition to his coaching prowess, Ivan is a sought after speaker on leadership and confidence development. Our emcee this year is former NHL player Jim Thomson. Jim’s playing career stretched over 10 seasons where he played for 6 different NHL teams. Jim’s passion is connecting with youth as a motivational speaker. He is the founder of Jim Thomson’s “Dreams Do Come True” and is often invited to speak at schools all across North America.
