Event Details

Are you concerned about social assistance in Ontario? Do you have ideas for improving it?

You are invited to share your views directly with staff responsible for reviewing Ontario Works and related programs.

The Social Assistance Review Commission recently released a discussion paper for community feedback, as part of its on-going task of reviewing the province’s social assistance system. The commission will be developing draft recommendations in the fall, and preparing its final report in 2012.

Maytree is organizing this consultation to seek the views of our leadership network on the five themes highlighted in the discussion document. Leah Myers, Executive Lead of the Commission, will attend to hear the feedback from participants.

When:  August 23, 2011 at 9:00 a.m.  to 12:00 p.m.
Where:  Beit Zatoun
612 Markham Street
Toronto, ON M6G 2L8

Please read this discussion document in advance of the consultation.

If you have any questions, please contact Maytree staff by email at policy@maytree.com. If you are unable to attend, but would like to provide feedback online, please visit the Social Assistance Review website.
