FAQ
Q: Is this ticket for convocation?
A: NO. This ticket is for the pinning ceremony and graduation event. Convocation ceremony tickets are reserved through McMaster/Mosaic.
Q: If my ticket is free, what is the $45 charge on Mosaic? Do I have to pay for the MUNSS ticket if I only attend Convocation? / Do I have to get both the MUNSS ticket and pay on Mosaic?
A: While MUNSS is responsible for the pinning ceremony and the day of graduation, we are not responsible for the convocation ceremony. Convocation is entirely organized by McMaster and is separate from MUNSS. The $45 fee is primarily to cover the cost of your diploma.
The reason why MUNSS charges for guest is because MUNSS funds the event booking, food, graduate gift, photobooth etc. We kindly ask that students help fund this by paying for guest tickets if they plan on attending more than just the convocation ceremony.
We understand that some students only want to attend convocation and so you do not have to buy the Pinning Ceremony ticket. We will provide refunds for any student who already purchased their Pinning Ceremony ticket but no longer wants to attend..
Q: I bought guest tickets, but I do not plan on attending pinning. Can I get a refund?
A: Yes. For refunds please email level4@munss.ca
Q: Will gowns and caps be provided?
A: Gowns and caps are provided only for the afternoon convocation ceremony for graduates by the School of Nursing who purchased their tickets on McMaster Mosaic.
Q: Will there be food and drinks?
A : We will be serving tea and coffee after the Pinning Ceremony.
Q: How many guests can I bring to the ceremony?
A: At this time we are allowing each student to bring 2 guests. If ticket sales are lower than expected we may open up more guest spots at a later time. No exceptions.
Q: Do I have to attend both ceremonies?
A: No, but we highly encourage you to attend both the pinning and convocation as both celebrate graduation and entry-to-practice.
Q: How do I know if I qualify to graduate?/ Do I have to be registered with the CNO in order to attend the ceremony?
A: No, you do not need to be registered with the CNO to attend. As long as you have been approved to graduate on Mosaic and you have met all School of Nursing graduation requirements you can attend the ceremony.
