Event description
Have you ever wondered what happens at one of Canada's largest refugee claimant points of entry?

About this Event

MCRS is excited to have Roy McGregor as our guest speaker at our 2019 AGM.

Roy was born and raised in Fort Erie. He has always had a tie to the Peace Bridge through members of his family being Immigration Officers, CBSA Officers or employees at the Dutyfree.

He began working with the Fort Erie Multicultural Center in November 2005. He admits he was more than a little skeptical of the stories he started hearing from refugees. "My honest opinion was that everyone was lying. These people are liars because there is no way their governments would allow this stuff to happen."

Fourteen years have passed and Roy is still experiencing situations, some horrific and some inspiring, but his compassion and understanding is as strong as ever. He will do anything and everything necessary to keep the refugee claim process running smoothly.

As Agency Support Service at the Peace Bridge Newcomer Centre, a program of the Fort Erie Multicultural Centre, he wears many hats and has many stories to tell.

Don't miss out this one-time opportunity to hear real front-line "Stories from the Border".

We look forward to seeing you there!

NOTE: Please enter and exit through the STUDIO doors off Ellen St.

PARKING INSTRUCTIONS: If you require parking, MCRS staff will be supplying free parking tokens at the lot off Ellen St.
