About this event
Guest Lecturer: Dr. Joyce Obeid
This Month's Topic: Exercise is good for your heart and muscles, but did you know that exercise can help your body fight off colds and viruses? That it can help you feel less pain? Exercise can even help you do better in school! Together we will explore the magical world of exercise for your body and mind.
About our Guest Lecturer: Dr. Joyce Obeid joined the Department of Pediatrics as an Assistant Professor with the Child Health & Exercise Medicine Program in 2017. Her research program focuses on exploring the power of play for children and adolescents growing up with a chronic medical condition or disability. Dr. Obeid's current research spans 3 broad and connected themes, including exploring the measurement of movement, understanding the relationships between physical activity and health, and investigating the role of technology to promote physical activity throughout the pediatric years.
Location: This lecture will take place in person on McMaster University's campus.
* Please note, we will no longer be offering the lectures over zoom. We will be filming the lectures and posting them on our website for those who are not able to make it to the event.
