Description

McMaster Children & Youth University presents:

Medieval Animals & Mythical Creatures: Where do you find them today?

with Dr. Catherine Grise

How did people share information before there were cameras, phones and computers? During Medieval times, special books called Bestiaries were used to teach people lessons about the world. This was done through fantastical illustrations of animals – some real, some imaginary – used as symbols. Take a look at the intricate way these books were made and what they can tell us about the relationship between animals and humans during Medieval times.

Let's Talk Science will run hands-on activities after the lecture from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults must also register. Please bring ticket to be admitted.
