Description

McMaster Children & Youth University presents:

The Haudenosaunee Creation Story: How the World Came to Be

with Dr. Richard Monture

Many religions and cultures have their own creation stories or myths for how mountains, oceans, plants, animals, and people came to be here on planet Earth. Today we will hear how the Haudenosaunee (or Iroquois) believe the natural environment was created, and how nonhumans and women play a central role in teaching human beings how to respect, care for, and give thanks to all that is provided on Earth.

Let's Talk Science will run hands-on activities after the lecture from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.

Chilren under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Adults must also register. Please bring ticket to be admitted.
