Me, the "Other", a documentary film about diversity
Event Information
About this event
The award-winning documentary film Me, The “Other” is creating conversations about otherness and oneness in schools, workplaces and communities around North America and beyond. Through the stories of twelve diverse students living in Michigan, a rich mosaic of the human experience emerges – inviting us to see what connects us and what keeps us apart.
In Me, The “Other,” the students recount their journeys through prejudice and adversity and we see that otherness is never one thing. Their stories comprise a wide range of experiences with racism, sexual harassment, chronic illness, sexual orientation, gender identity, religious prejudice, immigration, incarceration, mental health issues, and more.
The movie will be followed by a small group discussion, facilitated by the Interfaith Council of Halton.
Light refreshments and popcorn will be available.
Donations are graciously accepted and will support the Interfaith Council's ongoing work in the community.
This event is hosted in support of World Interfaith Harmony Week. https://worldinterfaithharmonyweek.com/
