Event description

Description

SORRY. This class is SOLD OUT.

We will repeat the class in 2020 so please send an email to admin@lushvalley.org to have your name added to the list.

Join us for a meat-free Monday as we cook and enjoy a lovely meal together!

We will prepare various vegetarian items that can become a staple in your everyday healthy food regime.

Learn how to use vegetables at the main star of your plate and animal protein as garnish or flavouring and make choices that are good for animals and for the planet.

PLUS, we'll share ideas on how to eat seasonally and healthfully through the winter months.

  • This workshop is for people aged 15 and up.
  • Space is limited to 8 participants, so please register early to avoid disappointment!
  • COST: $30 and bursaries are available to those in need. Please email admin@lushvalley.org to apply for the bursary.
  • Refunds are subject to a $5 admin fee. (Tickets are transferrable.)
  • WHAT TO BRING: Come with your favourite chef’s knife, a paring knife and vegetable peeler.

About Our Facilitator, Jill Lamberts

Jill is an avid farmer, fermenter, food preserver, bread baker, beer maker, and charcuterie experimenter. She has recently transplanted herself from an Environmental Chemistry and Remediation career in Seattle, Washington to the Comox Valley to farm and work in food. She is a learner, having received degrees in Environmental Science, Biology, and the Culinary Arts. You can find her in the berry patch and garden at Shorewolf Farm in Black Creek and at the Sunday Merville Gumboot Farmers Market (and hopefully more soon!). She’s interested in being a part of the growing Comox Valley sustainable food networks and cherishes the importance of local, farm-fresh ingredients in healthy lives.
