Executives from ESDC’s Temporary Foreign Worker Program together with the Food Processing Human Resources Council (FPHRC) will be hosting 4 in person one-day sessions covering all provinces in Canada. Various representatives from federal departments, provincial labour departments, unions, industry, associations and academia will be present at these meetings. As an industry contributor you will be able to connect directly with policy decision makers.

The Roundtable will be taking place in Toronto, Ontario on Thursday, September 28, 2017, this regional meeting is for Ontario and the Atlantic Regions.

ESDC is seeking your early input on the attached Collaborative Labour Market Action Plan, particularly as it relates to industry initiatives that make the labour market more efficient and that contribute towards your recruiting efforts. This would include any initiative or program on innovation or that supports and develops a domestic workforce through immigration, HR or training programs. As a meat processing company your input is vital! All feedback will be collected through an interactive facilitated process and then aggregated into the draft Action Plan, which will be shared with all participants after the in person Roundtables take place.

A key element of this review is the “LMI Study for Meat Processing Sector” being led by FPHRC. Details of this initiative will also be provided at the meeting.

Travel Expenses Paid by the Council - As a meat processing company the FPHRC will be covering your travel expenses including; mileage, airfare, hotel and meals. Upon registration the Council will provide you with the travel guidelines.
