Medieval Knights Adventure & Tournament
Our Medieval Park opens its gates to the General Public, after 20 years of educating and entertaining students. Come & enjoy Medieval Fun!
About this event
After 20 years of amazing performances at our park to elementary school students from across Ontario (North York to Pembroke to Hunstville) we are finally opening to the General Public.
You get to travel back in time to our Medieval park and follow the path of a young Knight, who needs to learn skills so they can compete in the Tournament at the end of the day.
Join them as they travel from one historian scholar to the next in engaging hands-on presentations:
- Ancient Armour and Weapons. Learn about the different types of armour throughout history plus you get to try some on. Our weapon experts show off the various types of weapons. See how weapons and armour were at a constant battle with each other, always trying to better one another throughout history.
- Our Trebuchet Builder talks about Siege weapons and will get a volunteer to help demonstrate their awesome power
- Falconer Gryphon with his Red-Tailed Hawk "Valor", talk about the Sport of Kings: Falconry
- Njord the Viking Warrior tells tales of old. Ancient Norse tales where you get to join in by acting in a Viking Play.
- Warrior Skills: Axe Throwing, for both adults and children. You get instruction and a demonstration before you get to test out your warrior skill at throwing axes
- Warrior Skills: Archery, for both adults and children. In England, it was mandatory for all peasants to practice archery daily. The Longbow archer ruled the battle field. You get to test your skill with the bow.
- Young Warrior Skills - "Challenge a Knight " for children under 10 years of age. The young warriors get instruction on sword skill and then get to test their bravery against one of Blades of Glory's Knights of The Realm.
- Mistress Jayne (the scariest person at The Realm - voted on by students) presents, in her own special way, Ancient Crime & Punishment, while the executioner is away. You will be on the edge of your seat just hoping she doesn't call on you to voluneteer ...
- We end the day with a judged armoured combat Medieval Knight Tournament, where all knights are vying to be proclaimed Protector of The Realm
Come and find out why our park has consistently been labelled the Best School Trip Ever, by students, parents and teachers alike for 2 decades!
