Meditation Groundwork
December Orientation Session
*Open to all
Your first step in Meditation Groundwork is to join an orientation session
Here, we will give you details about:
-How to open and close a meditation session
-Ways to sit and support your posture
-Basics of breathing and guided meditations
-Ways to practice generosity
Then, if this is something you want to try, we'll offer you the chance to register for streamed group sits in December. There will be 8 in the remainder of December, and 3 per week in general.
*You do not need to attend all group sits. Just do what you can.
Ongoing streaming meditations will be done by monthly subscription, such that you may renew your commitment and intention each month.
When?
Orientation session : November 30th at 7:30 - 8:30 pm MDT
Meditation sits (separate registration)
Following Mondays, Wednesdays of December (2,7,9,14,16) at 8:30 - 9 pm
Following Sundays of December (6,13,20) at 9 - 9:30 am
Where?
Online, on Zoom.
For who?
One who wishes to start a meditation practice and doesn't know where to start.
One who values meditation and wants to make it happen in his/her life.
One who has meditated, and needs support in order to make it part of a healthy lifestyle.
Why?
Part of you knows that dedicating time to stop and breathe mindfully is important. It’s hard to make it happen alone! We know that from experience!
Whatever good intention, the reality is that all is set up for you to be drawn back into habits and busyness. It takes a good amount of effort to disroot this habit of thinking about everything, everywhere, all the time! It is just what we know. What we are used to.
You may have recognized that this approach to life is not fulfilling. That somewhat, whatever you do, you always fall back into some sort of anxiety, dissatisfaction or pain. Ultimately, you know that true peace is found inwards. All you need is dedicated time and effort to train yourself into being present with this moment, just as it is, without needing to do much about it.
This group practice will help you develop the muscle of concentrating the mind on something truly wonderful and anchoring, your very own breath.
