Meditations for World Peace
Meditations for World Peace
About this event
We appreciate that mask mandates have been in place for over 2 years, and that many among us are eager to see them lifted.
Most of us are fortunate in that COVID19 is unlikely to pose a serious threat to our health. However, our present membership does include both elderly and immunocompromised individuals who, even though fully vaccinated, remain vulnerable to serious disease.
Accordingly, as a precaution, our volunteers will continue to wear masks for the time being. We kindly ask that you please wear a mask during your visit to the Centre in order to protect those individuals who (visibly or invisibly) are at increased risk. Thank you.

The Class:
These classes teach how we can use the power of meditation as our greatest contribution to peace in the world, and become a positive influence on those around us. Each class includes guided meditations, beautiful Buddhist prayers for peace, and a brief teaching on how we can use Buddhist principles and practices to solve problems and cultivate harmony in our own lives and beyond. By assembling the building-blocks for inner and outer peace - well-founded optimism, altruism and a compassionate heart - feel empowered to change yourself and, ultimately, your world.
The Teacher:
Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Suma has been teaching Kadampa Buddhism since the mid-1990s. A mother, grandmother and devoted practitioner, she is known for the warmth and clarity of her teachings and for her love of her students. She has been teaching in Barrie and the surrounding areas for nine years.
