Meet 'n Greet with Yvonne Hamlin

Come meet Yvonne and hear what she stands for in her 2022 mayoral election campaign.

Hamlin was elected to Collingwood council in 2018.

“We need real action on getting housing that is affordable for people who work here, on making sure development respects our community and on building a healthy and safe town. “said Hamlin in her news release to announce her candidacy.

‘I am ready to fight for Collingwood’: Councillor Yvonne Hamlin, the first to enter mayoral race on May 2nd.

Hamlin is in her first term on council, having received 3,813 votes in the 2018 municipal election. During her term, Hamlin served on the Development & Operations Committee (including as chairperson) and as vice-chair of the Joint Municipal Physician Recruitment and Retention Committee.

Professionally, Hamlin spent almost 30 years as a municipal lawyer. “Our town is undergoing significant change, and the decisions we make now will shape our community for generations. As a municipal lawyer who practised for several decades, I know how the system works and how to get results for Collingwood.”

This event will be held at the Butter Gallery, who specializes in contemporary Canadian art. They feature art from across Canada with an emphasis on local Ontario artists. In addition they feature locally made jewellery.

The gallery is co-owned by Andrea Rinaldo and Suzanne Steeves. Both have extensive experience and a real passion for all things art.

Light breakfast will be served. All funds collected over and above the event costs will go to Yvonne towards her campaign.
