Miami Ad School Toronto presents our latest Industry Hero – David Rosenberg, Partner, Chief Creative Officer at Bensimon Byrne, and key member of the Trudeau Election Team, who will tell the inside story of Canada’s 42nd election.
David also gave this presentation at the Cannes awards earlier this year, and was the only Canadian presenter of the entire award show. Providing background context, he’ll outline the brave creative choices Justin Trudeau and his team made through the analysis of 4 key video ads (created by David & his team) showing the progression of the campaign – each, breaking rules – that helped Trudeau reverse a steep decline, and propelled him to the Prime Minister’s office.
What you may not know is that Justin Trudeau was the third place candidate at the outset of the election, trailing badly in every poll. His image had been tarnished (some thought, irrevocably) by the Conservative Party’s campaign, branding him as “Just Not Ready”.
But…on election night, for the first time in Canadian electoral history, Trudeau ascended from third place to the highest office in the land.
Join us on Tuesday, October 18, at 6pm at Miami Ad School Toronto to discover how an innovative advertising campaign, willing to break all accepted conventions of political advertising, reversed a steep downward trajectory for Justin Trudeau, and contributed greatly to making him Canada’s 42nd Prime Minister.
