Meewasin wants to encourage the community to spend time outdoors this winter season and enjoy the opportunity to be active in a safe environment.

The Cameco Meewasin Skating Rink @Nutrien Plaza, located beside the Delta Bessborough Hotel, is open to the public from 1:00pm to 8:00pm, Wednesday to Sunday.

New skate times are released weekly on Mondays at 12:00 noon.

Precautions are in place to ensure the safety of staff and visitors.

To ensure the safety of all, free admission to the rink will looks a little different than previous years. Things you should know:

- Access to the skating rink area is restricted to a maximum of 50 individuals including Meewasin staff.

- Pre-registration is required to book a one-hour window (45-minute skate time) between the hours of 1:00pm and 8:00 pm Wednesday through Sunday to ensure the maximum capacity is not surpassed.

- Bring your own skates and dress for the weather! Access to the skating chalet beside the rink is restricted to Meewasin employees only. We are unable store personal belongings or lend shared skates to the public.

- Skate times start promptly on the hour and you will have 45 minutes of skate time before we need to clear the ice for the next group.

- Please be on time! Registrant's space(s) may be cancelled if they do not arrive within 10 minutes of the scheduled skate time.

- The outside fire pit will run after 2:00 PM for warm-up opportunities. Additional benches will be installed along the ice surface at acceptable physically distanced intervals.

- Masks are strongly recommended and physical distancing (from people not in the same group) will be mandatory for all visitors to the skating rink.

- Please note that bookings are intended to provide opportunities to skate. As available bookings are limited, please help us by keeping spectators to a minimum.
