MELANIE PETERSON: Saskatoon born, Toronto-based folk/pop artist Melanie Peterson is all about love and making music for the good of others. Her music has been consistently praised by listeners and music critics alike for her beautiful voice and exceptional songwriting. With a West Coast, East Coast and Southern Ontario tour
under her belt, and more to come, Melanie is also an actor who's most recent role was on the hit Amazon Prime series “The Boys”. BBC Radio has called her “Mary Poppins with a broken heart” and Bob Mersereau of Top 100 Canadian Blog says “she makes you want to lean in and soak up her stories.” Melanie is proof that hard work pays off.
Melanie continues her folk/pop vibe with her new EP 'We Got This -Side Two' to be officially released early September 2022, with the first single “Somebody's Somebody” to be celebrated with this full band show at The Dakota Tavern. Her early musical influences include the folk stylings of Joni Mitchell, the confessional songwriting of Alanis Morissette and more recently the critically acclaimed songs of Kacey Musgraves. Note: This will be Melanie’s first full band live show since 2020! She is super excited!
THE ALTER KAKERS: The Alter Kakers are a three piece indie rock band from Toronto with Steve Bronstein on guitar/vocals, Cary Corvair on bass/vocals and Dan Barsi on drums. They’ve been together for over 13 years (lucky eh?) and have recorded 3 EP’s and a number of different singles. Their current single is a rocking cover of the Leonard Cohen song Hallelujah which is garnering them some positive attention. Currently they are being filmed to be featured in the music documentary Path to Creation which will air nationally later this year (2022). Note: this will be an acoustic set with just Steve and Cary.
